Mostly a lot of questions to think about. A thought provoking book on how humans program, and how they interact with others. A couple of months ago the topic of psychology and computer programming came up in a thread; it was noted there didn't seem to be a lot of work done in the area (iirc). The new site Code.org launched today to try to change that by helping grow computer programming education in the United States. Our standards, in other words, are shifting ones---a fact that has to be taken into full consideration in programming language design. So this is it; modern psychology, computer programming and neurophysiology meets ancient mysticism. Many years ago I read "The Psychology of Computer Programming" first edition, and found it to be the best book that I had ever read about the field of computer programming. Wienbergs "Psychology of Comp Programming" delved into the effect of languages a little. Lilly referred to this self-programming ability as metaprogramming, and reported on his research in his . Jerry Weinberg was the first researcher to look at this stuff in his classic PSYCHOLOGY OF COMPUTER PROGRAMMING.
